There are several local taxi companies operating in each district of the island, they can be pre-booked and charge by meter reading which runs from start to finish of your journey. Tenerife's taxis are white in colour and mostly Mercedes cars or larger estates, they are usually large enough for 4 adult passengers plus luggage. If you plan on using a Taxi for longer journeys or for a day excursion it is possible to negotiate a fixed price in advance.
